Was greeted by an inexperienced host, who was not trained in how to deal with an early arrival. Once the manager took over, it was fine, but I was not impressed with the first person I dealt with.
...
They have arranged their rooms such that a smoking room is right next to a non-smoking room, and the gaps under the doors are so large that smoke easily travelled into my room. When I complained, the host did nothing to remedy the situation. Smoking may be common in Europe, but as a traveller from California, I found it almost unbearable.
...
Very cute and generally very nice hosts (though they made one bad decision to employ one of their front desk people.) If you're at all sensitive to smoke, don't stay here. Breakfast was wonderful, and having a pot of afternoon tea was a lovely touch.

I tried twice by email to contact the hotel to find out if they had a shuttle service. I thought in your website it said they had a ride from the airport. I got no response to my inquiries. When we arrived we called and got directions on the tube-lugging our bags with us. Otherwise arrival was great. Very helpful staff.

We loved the hotel. The only complaint was that our room was very tiny. Barely room to walk around thebed and nowhere to put our suitcases. We realize Europe is just smaller as far as space. Hallways narrow and not much room in reception areas etc. Otherwise the room was lovely-very nicely decorated and clean.
...
Right near the tube which made it convenient for sightseeing. Fabulous breakfast with homemade croissants.Delicious yogurt and fruit. Really nicely displayed and elegant. The best breakfast we had on our whole trip to South Africa and London. Nice staff and quiet area.
...
Elegant and funky at the same time. Tucked into a residential area near all the major attractions.Warm and welcoming accomodations and staff. The smell of freshly baked croissants greets you as you descent the stairway to breakfast.

Very pretty breakfast room with substantial european breakfast: lots of fresh fruit, etc.
Staff very attentive and friendly.
Bathrooms well appointed and newly renovated.
Room small by north american standards, but not for London.
Lift up to rooms appreciated.
Located on a quiet square with private park full of mature trees.

I really enjoyed my stay, but in future would book a room that was not on the 4th floor. Even though it was October, my room was so hot, at night it was unbearable. They tried to fix the airconditioner, and it worked for one day only, but it worked by having a big plastic hose attached to it and then going out the window. As a single woman, at night with an exterior staircase and balcony outside my window, I did not feel comfortable about leaving the window open. The following day, the conditioner did not work at all.

Everyone was so pleasant and polite that it may the stay very enjoyable. Also, the breakfast was very good.
...
The air conditioning problem.
...
I would say it was a lovely townhouse hotel, vey clean, lovely bathrooms, wonderful staff, terrific location, but watch out for the airconditioning, or lack or air circulation.
