For the cost, I felt Swinton Hotel was an excellent value for budget-conscious London travelers, especially considering the current USD-to-GBP exchange rate! I would certainly not call our room spacious, but it was quiet and clean, the bathroom was en suite, and the staff was very friendly. Our shower, however, was impossibly small. :-) As first-time visitors to the city, we loved the proximity to Kings Cross station and felt that we were well-situated to get anywhere we wanted within just a few minutes. ... Positive: great value for Americans visiting London, lots of little neighborhood restaurants and pubs if you don't feel like going all around the city one night.
Negative: no frills room -- clean but small, a little skimpy on pillows and towels. No A/C in summer! ... A great 'home base' during your stay in London. If you plan to do a lot of sightseeing and luxury hotel amenities are not critical for you, Swinton is an excellent value.

Staff was very good, very helpful and friendly. This is a series of row houses converted to a hotel, As a result the halls are a bit twisty, and stairways are very steep and can be difficult to negotiate. I suggest a ground floor room. There is an elevator, but it seems to stop working fairly often (4 times during my stay). ... A '2 Start' hotel with good service. Employees are great, very helpful. Rooms are small and a bit worn, but baths are new and clean. I recommend The Swinton if you don't need a fancy 5 star accomodation, and you want good value for your money. Get a ground floor roomk, do not go to upper floors if at all possible.

It was a good experience and I will consider staying in Swinton's the next time I'm in London. ... Compared to other hotels Swinton's offer a good value for money comfortable stay. ... No ... Good, clean, elegant room decor, relatively very reasonable in price, close to stations, there is not free WiFi as stated, breakfast ends surprisingly early considering that most people who visit the hotel are suppose to be on a vacation. I would definitly consider Swinton's for my next visit.

We were in a very hot room located in the basement. The view from the window was terrible. We ask for change the room, and the second one was not hot, but the shower didnīt work, so we had to have shower in another rooms, which was very unpleasant. ... I wouldnīt recomend some rooms of the hotel, although some of them seem nice. The breakfast was ok.
