I was really impressed with this hotel. My room was very comfortable, clean, and refreshing. The manager was there to welcome me and even helped me with my luggage. The dining area was nicely done and the staff cooked the best English breakfast I have had in London. If you don't stay at this hotel, you will miss out on a great experience. I can't wait to return. This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Bloomsbury. Easy access to the tube and West-End. Can't wait to return. Paul Walters South Carolina, USA

The receptionist was warm and welcoming as was the reception area. Very nice. ... Although the room was small, that was expected as it was a single. It was quite comfortable and quiet because of the double paned window, and the air conditioner was wonderful since I was there during a heat wave. I never did find that hair dryer, though. ... The checkout was fine but I had asked for a wake up call that morning and never did get it. Fortunately I woke up early enough and did not miss my taxi. I did not mention it to the desk.
I also had a concern about the taxi. Since I was unfamilar with the process, I asked the hotel to arrange for the early morning taxi to the airport. I believe they could have gotten me a better deal as I now know that the taxi rates do differ greatly.
... It really is a nice neighborhood. ... As a lovely small hotel in a nice neighborhood, both charming and convenient, with a very friendly management and staff. (They let me use their hotal computer to check my e-mail!) The room was very nicely decorated. And completly quiet aven though it was right at street level.

The staff was very welcoming and helped us adjust to the time change. They served us breakfast and had our room ready, so we were able to change right away. ... The location was wonderful and the accomodations were great. We would stay there again, and we loved the room. ... The staff arranged for our trip to the airport as well as being able to check us out early. ... No, the website was excellent; it was very accurate. ... This is one of the best places to stay in London. The location is grat, the rooms were spacious, and the food was excellent. There is a bus stop across the street, so access is easy.

This is what I just submitted to tripadvisor.com:
London: Staunton Hotel: 'The highlight of our London stay' Date: July 22, 20 Reviewer: A TripAdvisor User, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada We have just returned from a trip to London and Paris and were VERY impressed with the Staunton. After busy days sightseeing in London, dealing with the crowds and the Underground, we were so happy to return to our room in Bloomsbury, especially to the large soaking tub! The room was clean, quiet and spacious and the owners couldn't do enough. The breakfast was outstanding and made to order. They are now installing air conditioning in all rooms, but we were fine with open windows in a room at the back of the hotel.

I thought your web site did a good job of portraying the hotel and I appreciated the photos. ... A small hotel, with decent-sized comfortable rooms with a private bath. It is on a somewhat noisy street. Very nice breakfast included.

The room was very clean and spacious enough but too warm for my liking and with no means to turn the heating off. Also the double glazing didn't stop the noise from the traffic in the morning which was quite unpleasant. ... The breakfast was very nice with plenty of fresh fruit and juices to choose from. Only tried continental breakfast though. ... The person in the reception was quite a charming character and nice. I would go back if i was assured i was getting a quieter room. It was very clean with a standard decoration but nice enough. Didn't try the lounge and the dining area was a bit crowded with tables. Good location for the business i had to attend to.

A nice and well located place, but a little too expensive.

Very warm welcome, detailed information for nearby restaurants, explanation of breakfast hours, given key to doors right away. ... Needs new carpeting in stairway, new paint job along baseboards, the leak in bathroom window was ineptly repaired, and room could be more cheerful - ie: brighter paint or different carpeting, more pictures.
Staff was wonderful for giving directions, and helping find places to deliver food late at night. ... Extremely helpful in getting cab for ride to airport. ... Good location, restaurants nearby, tube and buses nearby, excellent staff, substantial breakfast included in price, could use a little freshening in decor,

rooms were not ready until two o'clock what I considered rather late ... I'd prefer to have a tea making facility in my room, would give me more freedom of time.
