The lift was out of order. There was some reconstruction at the hotel and that is why the some of the hotel's spaces were quite noisy and dirty. I think I should be informed about this event before I arrived or checked-in. In our room we had a problem with water which dripped down from the ceiling for one night. Finally we received a discount but we could not sleep. ... This hotel is located in the heart of London - in Soho. You can reach all main London's attractions by foot in a few minutes. If you don’t need so much luxury then The Shaftsbury Hotel is the best choice.

Allowed to check in a bit early ... The room was a lot lot smaller than i was led to believe, especially after paying extra for a premiere room. ... Wasn't told items from mini bar would be charged and taken from credit card at a later date.

The staff were not expecting us when we arrived, and we had to wait for some time while they sorted out their computer. They were nevertheless polite and helpful and apologised for the wait. ... Good value, high quality hotel central London hotel accommodation.

There was a delay of about 35 mins as there was confusing regarding our reservation which had to be faxed to Best Western's central reservation department. Was all sorted eventually and we received complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. ... Very good hotel in great location, rooms were a little small but that is expected in London but was adequate and very good quality furnishings etc. Would recommend. ... Very efficent. ... If arriving by foot very easy to walk past as smallish entrance from street as most of the hotel is on other levels. Breakfast is first rate, self service but includes full English, cereals, fruit, breads and cakes. Really anything you can think of. Staff very good, very polite and friendly. ... Very good, mid range, cost effective hotel in great location. Not far from the underground, pubs, shops, restaurants etc. Actually you can see several restaurants from your window! Nice widescreen televisions in rooms, also in ours was a television in the bathroom. Watch telly as you soak or shower, how novel!! Nice hotel. Good Irish bar at the end of the street, sorry forgot name but very good with live bands. Also happy hour from 4 till 7 if I remember correctly. Good hotel, good stay.

Please note that the Internet connection was not very good. I had trouble when trying to connect to my email account. Also when I tried to view my Country's most viewed news website I could not connect. Probably due to restrictions or the fact that the browser used in the computer is not Microsoft Internet Explorer which limits the use of the Internet. ... A good hotel, clean and inviting rooms to stay in, good breakfast, very well placed in London.

I was not sure whether I received the correct room as I asked for a premier which was meant to be better than the executive. When I queried it I was told I had an executive which they said was better than the premier. ... The room was nice although the bathroom was extremely small and the heating was turned up a little enthusiastically! I liked the hotel but would have to upgrade if I stayed there again as the standard rooms weren't worth the money. ... The Shaftesbury hotel do a romance package where you get breakfast in bed, roses, chocolates, champagne and a four poster suite which I did not notice advertised on your website. Also I think the differences between the types of rooms need to be explained as I had trouble trying to work out what extras you got from going above the standard rooms. ... Great location, nice design. Upgrade if you want the best stay for your money.
