Below please see a copy of my letter forwarded to Dimitrios Neofitidis (Manager) via e-mail. Sept 30, 2005 Dear Dimitrios, Just a short note to thank you and the staff of '30 Pavillion Road' (Searcys Roof!) for the lovely attention to service and details that we received on our recent visit to your hotel... How nice to be treated so well! Please especially thank the young ladies, night staff and breakfast service department for us. Mr.Rohrer and I hope to see you all again in the not too distant future, Our best regards, Mrs Barbara Gay
Client: Mrs. Barbara Gay Client Code: 84123109 Accommodation to be Provided: Property: Hotel Searcy's Roof ... Question 9 should have a selection: 'Some aspects of property as described on the web site.'
Although a little run down at the edges (somewhat like grandma's house) the hotel was wonderfully located and almost like staying in a private residence. New carpet was being installed during our visit so perhaps some upgrading of the dowdyness is to come.
With that said, the staff was lovely and as mentioned in the note, the hotels attention to detail was very good.
I would definitely stay here again and also use Londonby/Worldby as a hotel source in the future! BG ... Very organized and professional...we were running late and check out was handled very swiftly and curtiously.
... Breakfast tray is very good and delivered exactly on time. Roof is lovely. Staff excellent.
Please check with the property to determine what further renovation will be occuring. Painting, new curtains, rugs (in progress) will all make the facility more wonderful.
... This is how my husband described our arrival in an e-mail to our friends....
'We have a Harry Potter experience trying to find the way in to our B&B until a doorman down the block helps us access the elevator on the street. Our accommodations are just a little run down, but in a lovely house, and more than adequate.'
I would add all my comments above... We had a great time and were made to feel quite welcomed and comfortable! BG

I found this little hotel to be wonderful - a quiet retreat and very concerned and helfpul staff. When I returned this week, they greeted me like family and it felt great to be 'home' for another night. It is a perfect London B&B. ... Just a lovely place to stay - thank you. ... Lovely Georgian building - quirky little lift to very pretty rooms and roof top garden. So quiet and pleasant, while the rest of London bustles past. The rooms are well fitted out and everything you need is either there already or a request away. A bonus to have breakfast or tea outside in the warm weather. I'd love to return to this little place on my next trip to London.

exceptional service especially as we had so much luggage with us!
... we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and will definitely be back if the oprtubity arises to visit London again ... A great find, one of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in. Large rooms, spacious bathrooms, all the children loved it, from my 1 year old to the 12 year old!

room 7 needs new carpeting, especially in bath. All the wood work need to be refurbished and painted. It's a charming, lovely old hotel that unfortunately, if not taken care of quickly, will start to look rundown, which is truly unfortunate. ... But for the above criticism, it was lovely, in a great location and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and charming.

Finding you was difficult because there is no big entrance, just a door. This could be made clearer. ... Perfect position for a visit to London, but the parking was expensive - £84 for just over 24 hours!

the only thing that was less than satisfactory about the cleanliness of the property was the dirty woodwork, especially the doors which were filthy with fingerprints ... excellent value for the location; breakfast is excellent

We loved the location. It was a little difficult to find at first but once located it was accessable from several different directions. The beds were good and the breakfast outstanding. I'd stay there again. Although I would be amiss if I didn't mention the elevator. It's a challange - but adds a unique charm at the same time.

See number 16. ... The staff is exceptionally attentive, friendly, and helpful, and the location is excellent. The room was more than adequate for our needs, but the facilities do need some updating.

It was a warm and gracious welcome, we instantly knew that we had selected a great hotel ... This is a great place to stay - I would certainly recommend it to my friends. Booking the reservation online was very straight forward.
Thank you ... Absolutely

we were able to check in already in the morning and got tea and buskuits without extra charge ... though the breakfast was good we as foreigners would have preferred some more typical British food ... very intimate private house, very British in style, very calm and in excellent surroundings, expensive as many other things in London

We had a wonderful stay at Searcy's Roof Garden and I would recommend it to anyone.. I do think, though, that the pictures in the photo gallery make the rooms look larger than they are; plus the facilities seem a bit 'tired'--needing a bit of deep cleaning (everything was basically clean though). We did, however, think it was most charming. The staff was extremely helpful and the breakfasts were fantastic! Not having been to London before we don't have anything to compare it to; we did think it was an excellent value. ... I think you should let people know that there are not any common areas. ... Charming rooms (not a hotel or B&B) with marvelous breakfasts for reasonable rates in a convenient area.

The property is badly in need of new carpet. The carpet in our bathroom was completely threadbare. ... Great location.
