We were disappointed to find that the hotel is directly above the underground and that our basement room was impacted by the rumblings of the underground and passing road traffic and pedestrians. When enquiring about the availability of rooms not in the basement I found the reception staff sarcastic, curt and not at all client friendly. An empathetic response, even to decline my request would have gone a long way. I was not the only person to whom the gentleman was sarcastic in his response. He treated other guests this way while I was waiting for attention.

It would be useful to know the proximity of the underground tunnels in relation to the hotel. Something I doubt one would want to advise potential guests.

Really nice looking and comfortable. Pity about being directly over the underground. The evening receptionist was sarcastic and rude. Don't stay there for only the last two reasons.

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Eagle, the hotel was god value for money, and the proximity to Hyde Park and Paddington Station puts it in an outstanding location. We intend to book there again on our next trip to London.

Rooms on the lower ground were very noisy during the night while the hotel staff exchanged the towes of the whole hotel and smashed door's! We're weren't able to sleep the whole night through!!!

Considering this was a supposed to be a family room, for a family of 2 adults and 2 small children it was atrocious! The childrens beds were up a level, access gained by a slippery spiral staircase with no stair guard at the top. The flooring is laminate therefore very slippery especially for small children. There was one glass in the bathroom for the 4 of us to share and after requesting more I had was told to collect more from reception and was given 3 additional disposable plastic beakers. The room was situated on a busy road, again not ideal for children. Overall, considering when I booked this room I stated the ages of my children, for a family room this hotel is dire. I have paid a lot less in central London in the past and got 100% better accomodation and service than this hotel has to offer and I will definately NOT be returning or recommending to others.

The noise from the tube should definately be mentioned as when a train passes the whole hotel rattles!

Very well positioned, as is just next Paddington Station, which is good to travel all over central London, and also to get the Heatrow Express to reach the airport!

WE had a great room on 2 stories which the kids loved as it had a spiral staircase in the middle. Major downside wasthe shower which flooded the bathroom at each use.

The room was small, but very clean. Great location 2 blocks from 2 different tube lines and 2 blocks from Hyde Park. It made getting around extremely easy.
The staff were very helpful in providing any information I wanted and getting theatre tickets.

we had booked a quad room and triples as we were a big group and wanted to share. unfortunately due to plumbibng problems we had to go in pairs. this was fine apart from the fact that we were spread over 4 floors no rooms being on the same floor!

We found the accommadation to be exactly what we required for our stay, clean spacious and very conveniently located to the station and tubes.
It would have been very to nice to have had tea and coffee facilities in the room, would be our only request.
Unfortunately there seemed to be a plumbing problem throughout the hotel, although i'm sure this was a temporaray problem, members of our group who were affected were provided with another room to use.
we had to use a spare junk room as a left
luggageroom on departure which was not brilliant. but our luggage was fine.

There was a leak, so when the person up stairs took a shower - it was dripping water from the ceeling. Other that that - no complaints

A list of recommended resturant nearby. It was very difficult to locat a good place to eat around the hotel.
It would be a good idea to give your customer some real room size number (i.e 2X3 meter).
Also a better and more clear are map.

Unfortunately I got a room on the basement floor and the quality of it was quite poor.
Broken bathtub, broken cupboard door, cold temperature being on the lowest floor etc.

Expected a more spacious triple room. It was very small, bathroom door was broken. I also expected tea and coffee facilities in room. Otherwise the room was very clean, the beds very comfortable, it had good light and big windows which helped create a warmer atmosphere.

Very well comunicated with London downtown besides Hyde park at 5 minutes walk. Many restaurants and pubs at hand. Quiet area.

The bathroom in our room was in a bad shape. The water wouldn't drain in the sink, and the shower was in a very bad shape. There were nearly any water coming out. Otherwise the room was okay.

We stayed were close to the city center, in a fairly quiet area. The hotel was good, compared to what you were paying. So if you are not to be in your hotelroom all day, and want to go sightseeing and shopping, I recommend this hotel.

We arrive at 5:00 a.m. and nobody was waiting for us although we send different mails and phone twice the day we travell because of our delay (we woke up a boy sleeping in a hidden +-'chair'!!!)
There wasn´t ANY book with our names. They gave us one room for one night firstly and we had to wait for the next day o book other nights (good thanks we had our e-reserve printed with the cost and the especifies oru we would have been 4 days in London without hotel!!!)
