| | | Surely occupying one of the best situations in London, The Parkwood is a gracious small Hotel.
Though only five minutes' walk from busy, noisy Marble Arch it is a world away in this quiet street which opens onto all the splendour of Hyde Park. |
The front door opens into an attractive hallway and thence the charming lounge with its pink sofas, plants and candy striped wallpaper. Many of the bedrooms have recently been re-decorated with pretty papers and prints and all have satellite television, radio-alarms and tea/coffee makers. Some rooms are non-smoking. Bathrooms are nice though a little old-fashioned, having tubs and hand-showers, not power showers. |
The Parkwood is under the same ownership as the Edward Lear as one notices by the same coral walls in the breakfast room, the hand-written menus exhorting one to 'Eat, relax and enjoy' and even the artists' gallery of paintings by visiting children. |
