Descriptive of the service and attitude: when we checked out in the morning the landlord himself was not in the office. We were already out on the street when he ran after us to wish us a good journey back home. Makes you feel special!

Even though we had indicated that we would arrive late at night, someone was there to greet us and she made us feel very welcome right away. She took our luggage to the rooms as soon as we arrived and made sure that we settled in without any problems. It was a wonderful reception after such a long day of travel.

Monika served a wonderful breakfast and she gave us helpful tips regarding London and how to get around. The other lady also gave us good tips and information about places to see and how to get there. This was far above what we had expected.

It would have been nice if the owner had told us earlier about the car service that the hotel uses to take people to the airport but then we did not tell him our plans until it was too late to order the car service.

Perhaps the availabilty of a car service to and from Heathrow Airport. I don't think that the easy accessibilty to underground train and bus service is emphasized enough.

I have already recommended this hotel to others who are travelling to London this summer. I described the hotel as being quite luxurious for the price and very conveniently located to train and bus service.

The taxi driver found the Ormonde House very easily and Allen was ther to greet us when we arrived.

Allen and Monica were very hospitible and accomodating. We enjoyed our stay and the location was very central to many tourist spots in London. We would highly recommend it to others and will possibly stay there if/when we return to London.

Ormonde is close to the Underground, shopping and pharmacies. It's mostly residential so the restaurants weren't as plentiful. We mostly went to other areas of London for meals, except breakfast, of course, which the staff prepared very nicely.

The hot water was a long time comming...nearly five minutes but we were on the 4th floor of a very old building so we weren't bothered by this.

Some maps of the area for guests in the lobby would be helpful and some tube maps in the room would be useful to plan outtings.

Definately a great area to stay in. There were lots of shops and restraunts close by and the tube was barely a five minute walk. We even walked to the Palace...about a 45 minute stroll.
The bed was also really comfy...probably the best I have ever slept in other than my own at home.

They arranged to have a car meet us at the airport and the driver was waiting when we got there. A nice welcome.

The lady working was gracious and lovely. The man who apparently owns the home was short and abrupt.

The room was clean, spacious, but for $250/night - not a good value. It had very uncomfortable beds. The twin beds were like
after thoughts, old mattresses thrown on cots, very lumpy and springy. There was no fan in the room and no airconditioning. The bathroom had been recently renovated and it was nice. The breakfast was great and the young girl who cooked, waited on us and checked us out was delightful.

It is in a lovely residencial area but not real close to active touristy things from a walking standpoint. We were able to walk to Buckingham Palace. Close to Victoria Sation, but confusing directions on how to find it walking.

Nice old home, with a homey feel, grumpy landlord, horrible beds and lovely attendent.
