I arranged for a taxi to Heathrow and they provided a private car for fixed fee of 35 pounds. ... The rooms have a slightly smoky smell and the furnishings are out of date and run down. My wake-up call was 20 minutes late. The single beds are very small and hard. That aside, the rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful, the big bathtub is great after a long day walking. The location is great. This is a tourist class hotel and a great bargain in pricey London. If you want elegance, go somwhere else. If you need a clean affordable room in a good location, this is your place. ... exactly as above

we were checked into a family sized room as requested. However, the room was in the basement. there was no view of anything. windows opened to a tiny sublevel court yard and cleaners closet accessed by the cleaning staff at all hours. very dark in the day time. the room itself was spacious and immaculate, but the temperature was high, and there was no way to turn down the heat. it was March. the beds were hard as concrete. We requested a room change on an upper level with bright windows. they gave us one immediately. It meant moving a fourth single bed into the new room, but it was wonderful and bright. soft beds. nice view of the street below, and the energy of london. we had a nice stay. ... the internet costs a pound for 10 minutes. very expensive. you can use coins or credit card. use coins. if you lose track of time, you'll spend a bundle on your card. ... if you're new to London, you'll like the typical stately townhouse style architecture of the hotel, and surrounding buildings. nice suburb. short walk up the road gets you to Knightsbridge, and Harrods, and a good pub. you can go for a walk through relatively high end residential streets in the area. nice pubs just down the street. bank machines right outside. the tube is right there, as well as a 24 hour general store where you can buy water, pasteries, wine, and anything else. the indian restaurant at the hotel is outstanding. they offer 10% off meals for hotel guests. the included breakfast is adequate (coffee, toast, jams). good value hotel. remember, if you are travelling with a family, be prepared for a basement quadruple room. if you don't want one, request it while making the reservations.

Very good quality/price ratio. Very good location. ... the right hotel for families or single women who want to feel safe even late in the evening while coming back from the center. ... Nice, friendly, comfortable and really easy to reach from/to the center and airport.

While on holiday you only sleep in your hotel so therefore a good quality 3 star hotel is more than adequate for this purpose and we found at the Montana everything that you require for your stay.

The bar was not always open during the opening hours. ... Obviously he star-indication of hotels in London is different to the qualifications of hotels on the continent (in fact a 3-star hotel room on the continent provides you with better comfort than in London). ... The location of the hotel is excellent (near the tube station - circle line). ... A friendly hotel, with a lower comfort level than what we would expect on the continent, well located. I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends.

i expected somebody to take our luggage and show us to our room we had to search to find our room ... we were placed in a semi-basement room ... we had to pay as we checked in (because we were paying in cash) so we left the hotel as soon as we were ready so we had no problems when checking out no staff was needed ... clean and quite, very near an underground station and close to interesting places

We were disappointed that the room was in the basement but when I asked the management to change it, they couldnt have been more helpful. Chris, the manager, was the best!! His cheerfulness made our trip!

web site stated tea and coffee making facilities but we were not given them and when asked for them on the following evening were told we could not have them until the next day, the day we were to leave ... Possibly tea and coffee making facilities on request ... Quite acceptable, reasonable value for money for london, quiet room on request. Breakfasts terrible - juice, tea or coffee and toast.

The reception desk had not kept track of my earlier request (and their response) viz splitting the bill with my roommate. We both needed this to allow us to recover the lodging expenses from our respective employers. ... Not only did the reception desk once again lose track of my request to produce split bills, but they had actually already charged the expense to my credit card (on a single bill) before we checked. The matter was eventually resolved but not without undue acrimony. A receipt was produced, but it was hard to read and the receptionist was obviously not interested whether we could have trouble when filing it to recover our expenses. ... Good location, but the staff do not take customer requests seriously and there are plenty of other choices at comparable prices in the same area. I'll choose a different hotel next time.

the room was very shabby. stained carpet, bathroom tiles broken, bathtub chipped in many places, very poor lighting in the bathroom almost impossible to shave. the old door to the room would hit the furniture. very poor quality blankets. the entire hotel smelled like cigarettes. ... shabby but a good location. try to find a cleaner place first. stay if u have to.

Everything was easy. No problems at all. ... I would say the location is great and the rooms were spacious (very uncommon for the price). The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it, but I would tell them to ask for a room upstairs and not one in the basement (not because of the quality of the room, but because it's nicer to look down on the street rather than up!).

I had a very small room at a convenient location near the tube station. Wireless Internet access was useful but the signal was weak and unreliable. Next time I would ask for a larger room.

NO TEA OR COFFEE FACILITY IN THE ROOM WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE AFTER A LONG DAY SHOPPING IN LONDON ... EASY TO FIND COMFORTABLE TO STAY LOTS OF FACILITY CLOSE TO THE HOTEL (SUPERMARKETS RESTAURANTS ETC)

Overall very good. Breakfast was a little disorganised and we were not offered anything other that toast, cereal and drinks. No other type of breakfast was mentioned even though on check-in we were told full english was available.

The staff at the Montana Hotel knows me for approx. 10 years. They are of course polite and happy to see me. But, all in all they are polite to everybody. ... The hotel prices in London are extremely high as everybody knows. the paid price of pounds 62 is acceptable for London considering also the location. ... Nice staff, shops, restaurant, cafes, tube station in direct vicinity. That is the best thing of the Montana.

The breakfast was very poor: only toast jam and coffee. Anything else had to be paid for e.g. orange juice, yoghurt, egg and bacon. on the other hand, a flat screen television was runnung in the breakfast room, another one in the lobby, which was not my prime need for breakfast.. ... location was close to conference centre and very close to tube and restaurants, good area. Rooms were ok, but not more, breakfast was lousy, I might try another hotel in the area next time.

The room was surprisingly small so me and my wife had to go to the bed from same side! I would not order again at Montana Hotel unless to be sure that we could go to the bed from both side. ... I had seen picture on the website of the room that I think that me and my wife stayed in and then believed that it was a single room! ... Not really. I would tell him that the hotel were in a good position in the city but tell him that he have to be sure what kind of room he would be ordering.

I thought the rooms were air conditioned. ... Very friendly staff that make for a good experience in a good location. Pack light, there's a narrow elevator.

Room was very old and in need of rennovation. The room was very noisy and in the evenings smelled of Indian food from the restaurant downstairs. I love Indian food but not in my room. Not up to par with other hotels of the same class.
... airconditioning ... Not somewhere I would reccommend to a friend. The location was great and service was nice. It would have been a perfect place if they upgraded the rooms, bathrooms and elevator. Just overall nasty without an upgrade.

the lifts broke down for the 4 days we were there. not any attempt to repair till the last day. We lived on the 4th storeys which makes it very difficult for us to go up and down the stairs especially with luggages.
