... The room was not so good. The shower had rusty screws on the wall. The door within the room could not be closed and was damaged. The pillows were too flat and the stairs to the room was too small and dangerous to clime. In the bedside draw was an old food bag. On a positive note, the breakfast was first class. ... Would not recomend

I was running the London Marathon the next day, but was told breakfast was at eight (too late) and there would be no reduction in my B+B rate, despite the fact the Hotel was incapable of providing breakfast ... Single bed small ... They were closed, so key put through door ... Don't expct to check in at 1pm as they were not ready ... Very basic

We booked 4 single beds, but we had two single beds and one double bed with only one blanket. The telephone did not work. There was no water from the shower. I told that to the receptionist, but he didn't come up to the fourth floor. On the second day we insisted on repairing the shower, in the evening the shower was in better condition. ... I asked about extra fee on visa card, the receptionist told me that there wsn't any, but in the end I had to pay 8 Euros more because of the VISA card. If he had told me that, I would have paid cash. ... old fashioned rooms ... a nightmare for a longer stay, quite okay for some nights

It has been a very pleasant stay in a cosy, friendly environment run by polite and helpful staff. It will definitely be my first choice for my next trip to London.

Had a little trouble getting the rooms we requested initially, but this was quickly resolved with the hotel staff. ... We were very pleased, and would happily stay here again. ... Good, clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, excellent location

Hotel was willing to take care of our luggage before check in. We did arrive quite early. ... Hotel was willing to take care of our luggage after check out. We did leave later in the afternoon. ... Closest pub (Lord John Russell) was only few steps from the hotel and had several real ales. Also many antiquarian book shops were close by. So I and my wife had lots to do...

TV was wrong
it was very cold- very limited heating ... The hotel is located in a nice area, excellent location. The single room was very small. Some annoying matters, like - heating, TV -. Staff is polite, breakfast is good. It's good value for money.

Would be nice if someone was available to help carry luggage up to rooms as staircase not very wide. ... No soap provided in bathroom Only one towel provided per person would be nice to have at least a hand towel each as well. ... Allowed us to leave our luggage there for pick up later. ... Very comfortable and a convenient location. good value for money.

We arrived at the Russel Square and did not know how to get there. We asked an employee at the station and given wrong directions, so we ended being on the opposite side to the Hotel. ... It was a very lovely experience, service was very good, breakfast was very good and all together as far as cleanliness was totally satisfactory. Neighborhood was exquisite and location very appropiate. ... Our conversation rate does not help. ... Map to get to the hotel. ... I would highly recommend it.

We arrived early and were accommodated immediately. ... There were a number of problems with our room. The major one, an unsatifactory bed, was remedied immedately. Other issues such as no latch on the bathroom door were not. ... The desk is not staffed 24-hours a day but we were given a number of helpful options for checking out. ... Free internet access-slow but available and free There is no lobby in which to wait. ... Acceptable accomodations that fit our needs and budget

I arrived before the check in time and they already have a room prepared. I was very happy with the service. ... Upon the reservation my credit card was charged with an addiotional nigth. One week after my stay this money was returned. I understood that it was keep temporally as a guarantee, but I would have agreed that this procedure had been somehow comunicated to me clearly when I did the reservation, because I didn't read anything relating to that in the website. ... Very well situated and very recomendable

A quite comfortable hotel within fairly good distances from the major points of interest in London.

Está muy bien situado. ...

We stayed in a cramped 5th floor room. The radiator heat didn't work (they gave us an electric heater to compensate), the windows didn't close all the way, and the hot water was inconsistent. The hot water cut out many times during a shower. At one point during my wife's shower, the water literally stopped coming out alltogether. ... Not very good...I would find a different hotel.

Carpets, walls and chairs were very dirty. We had to go to the lobby to get clean towels several times. No wash cloths were provided. I do not have high expectations for a hotel, but I expect it to be clean and quiet. ... Only those above. ... I will not recommend it.

The person on the desk was on his mobile phone all the time and on another occasion I went to ask him for non-feather pillows.
Work was being carried out in the entrance hall, dustsheets were all over the floor. I didn't feel it was a very safe environment to be lugging a heavy case across. (No-one offered to carry it for me.) ... The furniture in the room, apart from the beds was old and dilapidated. The lamp did not work and I had to ask for a new one.
The wardrobe especially was very wobbly. When I took my clothes out on the day of departure, it tipped over and fell on top of me. My friend had to pull it upright so I could extricate myself.
When I checked out and mentioned this to the man on the desk, he seemed incredulous, as if I'd made it up, never asked me if I was OK, did not apologise and simply said they would 'have a look at it'.
If it was checked by health and safety, I'm sure it would not pass.
The first morning, there were workmen making a noise, banging, and a member of staff complaining very loudly for ages on a mobile phone about delivery of items for the hotel. From about 8.30am.
If this is a 3 star hotel, A two star must be the equivalent of sleeping on Euston station. ... Don't go without a hard hat and ear plugs. ... In need of an upgrade - go somewhere else until it has been brought up to a real 3 star standard.
Very disappointing. Impressive on the outside only.

They offer a taxi service to the airports for slightly less than one would pay from a regular London cab ... Clean, well maintained, efficient and reasonably priced by London standards

Limited Internet access due to wireless range. This could be fixed with available technology, and would be most welcome by those increasingly requiring high speed Internet access.
A small fee would easily pay for this important feature.
Other than that, our stay was great.

We had advised them that we would not be in until late as we were on an inbound flight that wasn't arriving into Heathrow until 9:30 PM. They waited until we arrived prior to locking up. ... Upon check out they did wish to see the voucher as they were quoting 20 pound more than what we have believed was to be the case. Once they saw the voucher, the exact price was correct.
... It is linked with a series of hotels in the middle of a architectural structure. It you were looking just for a hotel on it's own you might not have found it. ... The double beds were small which could be the case as we were in a Quad room.

We had arranged through the Mentone for a driver to pick us up at Heathrow Airport and take us to the Hotel, and were satisfied with that service. ... The furniture in the room could have been of better quality and the mattress was not very comfortable. We asked for additional pillows but there were none available. You could hear the people walking around above us but luckily that was only for about 15 minutes each night. ... No problems with checking out. ... We received a slight discount for staying more than 3 days plus breakfast was included in the cost of the room. The breakfast each morning was very good but they didn't vary the selections so we eat the same thing every morning. ... The Mentone was very convenient to the tube and was situated on a quiet street. It could use a little sprucing up but it was a nice place to stay for not too much money.

The room was very small and the curtains were shabby and unlined. It was not worth £55 sterling, although the breakfast and breakfast-room were very good.
