The four star superior Jolly Hotel St. Ermin's is located in an unusually quiet corner of Westminster, the political and cultural heart of London. The Hotel was built on the site of a 15th century monastery commissioned by Henry VII in memory of St.Ermin. After the monastery fell into disrepair, mansion flats were built on the site during 1887-89. Finally the building was converted into a Hotel at the beginning of 1900. |
Due to its close proximity to the House of Parliament it has always been popular for Members of Parliament as well as Lords, Politicians, Celebrities and has a strong Media audience. The baroque staircase in the main lounge, houses a secret passageway wich was frequently used by Politician's calling Members of Parliament to vote when the Division Bell sounded, wich is located in the Lobby, and was connected at the time directly to the House of Commons. |
