Place is farther from the Gloucester underground than stated.

Arrival was before the stated check-in time. As might be expected, the room was not ready. The luggage being put in the hold was handled very efficiently.

As against a Delux double king booked by me and confirmed on-line as well as when I made a telephone call about 2 weeks before the scheduled arrival, the room given was a standard double. Upon raising the issue with the manager he apologized for a delux double king not being available and proposed a reduction in tariff from GBP 88 to GBP 75 per night. One had no choice but to accept the proposal.

In such situations the hotel must 'up grade' rather than 'down grade' the guest. I found this aspect unacceptable.

Room allotted was extremely small for the price, but I guess that is London for you. Knowing this problem, from comments by previous guests, though your web site, I had booked for the delux double king, but never got it !!!

Check out was handled very efficiently. I would have expected an up-gradation since the confirmed room type was not available. If not that, one must be given a substantive reduction....say 50% of the tariff for the type of room given.

Sometimes the breakfast room is inadequate to handle the flow of guests...too small. One day we had to wait in a queue for 15 minutes before getting seats. The waitresses at the breakfast seemed highly overworked on that day.

During peak hours, hot water in the bathroom was inadequate. It would seem that the boilers are common for a bunch of rooms. Individual boilers...one for each room... would work infinitely better. Shudder to think what would happen in the winters !!!

Average value for money. In London you cant expect much more than this, though. Place is definitely clean and well maintained with good furnishings. Space, efficiency in managing bookings, breakfast, hot water are some issues that, if improved, could make this a great value for money place.

The receptionist in the evening was not quite helpful at all, specially when asked to book a restaurant or find out a telephone number from the phone directory.
The rooms were quite noisy. We could hear all of the doors closing, people next to door or passing by in the hall way.
The cleaning staff should knock and wait before they decide to open the door for morning room clean-up!!!

The room sizes should be clearer. On the website the executive room looks big but instead they are quite small.

We were made very welcome by the staff. We were a bit concerned where to leave our car, but the staff took care of that straight away - everyone was very helpful and pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Country Inn Kensington to anyone - it's also very central.

There is a full grocery store one block away but there is no refrigerator/mini bar to store food.

I was expecting a very very small room and by European standards it wasn't that small. It was just fine for one person.

Very close to the tube and extremely clean. Double bed is two singles pushed together but it was ok.

The rooms advertised as 'compact' have quite a small double bed in it. However, once you are prepeared for that you can have a very pleasant stay here: very cleanly, nice breakfast buffet, and a quiet room. Can recommend this hotel.

The room was very nice. Unfortunately there was a door (closed of course) going to the room next door, so I could hear everything.
There were some young girls talking loud and laughing till 1 am!
The room was not quiet at all. It is a pity because I did like the room, or maybe I was just very unlucky with the clients next door!

The room was very clean but smallest then espected. It seemed larger in the photo on the web site.

The hotel was in great position for visiting the centre of London, the bus station and the tube are near the hotel (5 minutes by walking)but the rooms are smallest then espected.

I had asked for non-smoking and got a smoking room. We had asked for connecting rooms and they had none. We were offered bed and breakfast, and they said we were not. This was a shabby horrible stinking place that ruined our visit to London.

On the way back home, we stayed in London one more night. We stayed at a hotel for the same rate, that was clean, beautiful and a great experience. my kids were amazed that two properties for the same price can be this different. I feel totally cheated.

You should mention that the hotel is a smoking hotel and there are no non-smoking rooms, and if anyone has alergies, like we do, they should stay away..

There was hardly any food left on the breakfast table by the time I got to the dining room (still within the stated breakfast hours) and when I asked I was told, grumpily, that all they could provide was toast!
