The voucher offered a double en suite with a king bed, and we received a double with a bathroom down the hall.
However, other than that, we had a great experience with George Hotel. The service was excellent, the breakfasts were great, the room was cleaned daily, and the receptionist was very helpful. They also provided us with a baby cot for our son free of charge.
All of this, for nightly rate that was affordable for a family traveling on a tight budget in an expensive city.
We would definitely stay there again in the future, and will recommend it to our friends. ... The carpets in the hallways are old, but everything is clean. ... Very helpful and honest. Allowed us to leave our bags free of charge after checkout until later in the day when we were ready to leave the city. Very kind. ... The breakfasts are hearty and plentiful. Free internet access. Very accomodating to families with children. ... Great customer service, fair rates, the building is older and the carpets are old, but everything is clean and well kept. The breakfasts are excellent and you can have as much as you want, and I felt safe there. There is a park across the street that you have access too, and the tube is less than 5 minutes walk away. There are good eateries and great sites nearby (Lord Russell's pub, GBK in the mall across the street, The British Library, the British Museum. Russell Square is a wonderful park to relax in a few blocks away witha great cafe and you can pick up one of the city tour buses a couple blocks away to get an overview f the city.

Incredibly co-operative staff who helped us with our parking needs and storing luggage. We also enjoyed the breakfast which was more than adequate. ... Again, the staff went out of their way to help us - we couldn't speak enough praise in this regard. ... A comfortable, friendly hotel convenient to all tourist facilities and around the corner from the British Museum - totally enjoyable for us! The staff are polite, friendly and extremely helpful.

none ... I wish there'd been an elevator; walking four narrow flights up after a long day was very tiring. The 'shower' in the room was not very good at all. There was no hot water several times and the water pressure was very inadequate. In addition, the bathroom was too small. ... none ... Please specify that no elevator is provided and that access to rooms might require ascending several flights of stairs. ... Very good location; polite and friendly; small rooms; inadequate, but private, bathroom and shower facilities.

The hotel was really nice with friendly staff, also very peaceful for central London but in the perfect spot for the theaters, shopping and all the sights.

Good value and quiet for a central London location. A bit shabby but not bad for the price. Staff friendly

Very small room. Terrible bathroom! ... Tiny room with dirty drawers and closet. Didn't want to sit on the bed cover. Bathroom was old and vinyl floor tiles were peeling off.

I was not happy with the breakfast situation. First, we had a long wait for a vacant table. Second, the 'full English breakfast' consisted of baked beans thrown on a plate, tinned tomato, an egg (there was sausage and bacon, which I declined, so I am not commenting on those)--all cold. Add to this, a girl was running a vacuum cleaner with an unpleasant odour, probably disinfectant of some kind. I asked her to wait until we were through eating, but she did not stop. The second morning at the hotel we did not have breakfast there. ... Good place to stay, pleasant, but miserable breakfast.

The installation of an elevator needs to be considered. The narrow staircases and heavy doors to the hallways are somewhat difficult to work with. The simplest of locks on the bedroom doors might need some inprovement. ... see above ... no elevator ... affordable, nice and clean, copious breakfast included, conveniently located.
