After 2 days of travel and delays, several trains were not running so we had to take a different route than was posted. We arrived around 11:30PM and they were waiting for us. They took us to our room and said we could check in the following morning after we rested. Excellent!

The room was quite small, but very cozy, comfortable bed, tv & hot showers. No complaints. The girl on staff was very helpful in providing an electrical adapter, places nearby to eat, and directions on how to get around town. She also allowed us to use her computer to get our boarding passes for our next day flight.

The hotel is within walking distance of the tube, buses, shopping & restaurants. At our request they also arranged a cab for us for our departure. The service here was excellent, very friendly.

This hotel does not have a lift. It has very narrow, spiral, stairways.

Gate Hotel is a cozy, friendly, family run bed & breafast tucked away in Notting Hill. Its within walking distance of restaurants and the tube. We enjoyed our stay here and will definately stay here again.

Very familiar, small but nice, close to very interesting spots (Portobello market, Notting hill in general, Hyde Park, nice Pubs and restaurants around, easy to reach, many options by public transports - Central, circle and district line + buses! If a friend asks me for an accommodation in London I will truely recommend the Gate Hotel immediatley.

On the web site the rooms looks like much more spacious than they are in reality.

The Gate hotel with its location in quiet location but very close to the undergrund station is a very good place from which to explore London.

It was great to see flowers outside!

The room (No.1) was unbelievably small for
two adult males. Only one person could walk
around the room at a time; the other one had
to get on the bed! The bathroom was clean,
but the wash-basin was almost too small to
wash in. One could only wash ones hands, not
face, nor shave. And the sheets were never
changed while we were there. I think after a
week they should be. Also, the room was
vacuumed only once or twice during our stay.
It needed more than that.
This disappointment was made up for by the
kindness and friendliness of Kristina, a
wonderful young woman from Latvia. She did
everything she could to make our 2-week stay
enjoyable. Without her we would have been
disappointed in our stay. She saved the day!

I think you should give people an idea of
the actual size of the room. The photos tend
to make them look a lot bigger than they
are. Two adults spending two weeks in a
very, very tiny room is most uncomfortable
indeed. Had we known how squashed we were
going to be we would
certainly have looked for a larger room.

Great location. Tiny, cramped room (for
two). Tiny and awkward-to-use bathroom. And
the room was vacuumed only once or twice the
whole time we were there: not enough.
Otherwise a very friendly and helpful staff.
Very good breakfasts.
