One of the 'extras' in all bedrooms is our personal Restaurant Guide. This is a handwritten guide to some of our favourite restaurants both near the hotel and a taxi ride away. The guide is there as an introduction to some restaurants you might not have thought of and in one or two cases, a warning about a few you might have thought about! It's a very simple guide written in a friendly, non-pretentious way as an introduction to London eating. Sometimes you can arrive in a new city and the whole eating thing can be rather overwhelming this guide takes care of that feeling!

The wonderfully comfortable sitting room is where we serve our free cream teas every afternoon with hot scones, Devon clotted cream and home-made strawberry jam.

Facilities Staff: The staff are truly outstanding and sensitive to your every need, whether it's car hire, theatre and restaurant recommendations and bookings, ideas on what to do and where to go, they are there to help. For your office needs, photocopying, faxing, secretarial or meeting rooms, they can satisfy your requirements.

Breakfast: In the morning, when you are well rested, your complimentary breakfast is brought to your room on a large tray with pots of steaming hot coffee or tea, genuine freshly squeezed orange juice, warm rolls and croissants and home-made English preserves, all served on Wedgwood china with solid silver cutlery.

The Junior Suites are wonderful value for money. The price includes a complimentary limo to or from the airport (or a complimentary aromatherapy massage if you prefer), fax/answering machines in the rooms, mobile phone, modem and e-mail facilities.

Facilities outside the Hotel

Knightsbridge is arguably the most fashionable area in London and retains its air of sophistication through fabulous designer clothes and jewellery shops; museums and auction houses; and a wide array of others. The Beaufort Hotel which is itself high on the list of sophisticated hotel users is well placed to enjoy all the charms of Knightsbridge.

Hyde Park is an enormous area of open space and water where you will find no shortage of ducks, swans and geese happy to relieve you of any bread and buns you feel able to offer. At Number 1 London, is Apsley House, the home of the Duke of Wellington it's just beside Hyde Park and well worth a visit. Back in Knightsbridge you'll find a really impressive number of fashionable shops and restaurants and again if you want a large store with a difference you could do worse than to visit Harvey Nichols.

This is a centre for fashion, and has the most eye-popping window displays. It stands at the top of Sloane Street which is yet another street full of those designer stores. And, if shopping has finally taken its toll, try the little residential backstreets of Knightsbridge, such as Walton Street (which is just at the back of The Beaufort). This is the sweetest little street with a wonderful mixture of houses and shops and restaurants, and has quiet little streets running at right angles to it the whole area is idyllic. So we hope you've enjoyed this little introduction to London's Knightsbridge and just a few of its charms. We're sure you'll find plenty more when you arrive. Time to play, shop, browse and eat to your heart's content.
